Stefan Löckel joined the Intelligent Autonomous Systems Group as an external Ph.D. student in cooperation with Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG in April 2018. Prior to this, he received his Bachelor degree in Mechatronics from the DHBW Mannheim and his Master degree in Electrical Engineering/Control Engineering from the Technische Universität Kaiserslautern.

In his Ph.D. research, Stefan worked on the modeling and analyzing of race car drivers at Porsche Motorsport.

The derived framework and methods have been applied to different real-world problems using data from professional race car drivers, aiming to support the vehicle development process.
