Yongjian Tang joined the Intelligent Autonomous System lab on May, 1st, 2024 as a Ph.D. student in collaboration with Huawei Munich Research Center (MRC). His research centers on foundation models in robotic manipulation.

Yongjian Tang graduated from Technical University of Munich with a Master Degree in Robotics, Cognition, and Intelligence and a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Before joining IAS and MRC, he worked as a NLP research assistant at Siemens, with a focus on LLM-based information extraction, while concurrently holding a position as an IT consulting new associate at Accenture. Additionally, he did internships at BMW Group and Kostal Group.

During his Ph.D., he incorporates foundation models into robotics. Some potential subtopics include vision-language-action grounding, feature field representation, etc.
